Today I worked on installing carpeting and am prepping to start my 83. I've been having this weird intermittent starting issue. checked the usual culprits, however, since I have the seats out I have a great view under the pod. To my surprise I found a strange looking 3 position switch wired in. I'm afraid to mess with it, but I figure when I power the car up, I'll try and see if changing the position will make a difference. More to come! Ken

Nope. small, square, black, with a aluminum toggle. Just heading out to the shop for a few hours before work. Hopefully I'll have time to vacuum, cover over the floor holes, and renew the coating that's been chipped/fallen off. Have to work this evening. Crap.

Floor coating done. Looks pretty good. Tomorrow more interior assembly and carpet installation. The open floor holes and a once broken window, along with the rainy northwest weather and neglectful POs created rust and corrosion. Not to mentions shards of glass in my fingers! Wife wants me to get this thing (83 auto) going--she's tired of my driving a Toyota corolla. may also try to start it tomorrow. pics and updates to follow. Ken

Was thinking you had identified the dormant rear fog switch.

Tomorrow is removal of the HVAC controller to find and repair the defect on the ground track (4) of the circuit board. Replacement diodes at the ready.

I want to eventually remove the dash and pod and replace with a pristine one, brown leather. If someone has one, I'm a buyer!
Otherwise, find some way to seal up the numerous cracks. I have crack filler but there are way too many cracks.

Well, I can't repair the HVAC controller circuit board.
Will get a Greg Brown unit from Roger, and substitute in my LEDS and monofilament fiberoptics.

more carpet going in, then I may put in one of my spare seats (manual) and try to fire it up, or I'll try to remove the broken hatch shock mounting pivot (the one on the hatch). Have a brand new pair I'd love to use (rear hatch shocks, that is!).

Going to bypass the dimmer rheostat, and remove it. I've removed it once and gave it a good cleaning, but its infrastructure is now loosening up to much. I never dim the lights any way.
