I have to believe that purchasing your wheels in Europe is less expensive then paying shipping from the US. That being said, you can't go wrong contacting Eli at www.wheeldynamics.com

I bought my 18's from wheels and caps that Ted linked above, over the summer, and have been very happy with them. They are the made in Italy replicas. Awesome price too. I mounted Sumitoma's and the total was less than $1400, wheels and tires.

thanks all. actually, although I am currently living in europe, my car is back in virginia living with my parents. Wish I could bring it here but taxes on it are based on its value HERE...so it would cost a pretty penny to bring it. by the way , what is the correct name for these wheels and do you think there is any problem going non OEM. I saw a really nice set of the chrome version of these, OEM but they want about $2000 for them. yikes!

Non-OEM will probably be a little softer. If your roads don't suck, you'll probably be fine. I'm running reproduction 18s in MI and haven't bent them yet. I would think you'll be fine in VA. If you can, stay away from chrome. Polished is always a better option if you want that sort of look.

I bought mine on Ebay. There are sets on there all the time.
Chrome adds weight and doesn't balance as well. It's purely for aesthetics and does nothing to make the wheel better, just shinier.

yeah..those prices are per wheel so it ends up being about $1800.
i thought those were the perfect offsets for this car? 57 front and 58 rear. for normal size tires anyway. some others on here were running the thin carrera wheels with 53 fronts and i was under the impression these werent the best....now im confused.

Yea, I thought 57 and 58 were good front offsets, maybe it is the REAR offset that is the problem in this case??? I thought I remembered seeing an offset number of 70 somewhere along the way. I guess I could roll my lazy A$$ out to the garage and take a look huh?!

The prices at wheelsandcaps, linked to in the 2nd post, are not per wheel, they are for a complete set of 4. I bought a set.
The 57/58 offsets are very good for the 928, in my opinion. On my 86.5, I had to have the 24mm spacer milled down to about 13mm so the rears wouldn't rub when they hit bumps. This made the studs slightly too long and my closed end lugs became open ended. If I had it to do again, I would mill down to 15 mm or so as to not push the studs though the end of the rear lugs. The car handles GREAT with these wheels/tires.

eBay all day long for those 5-spokes - just have to keep looking for the best deals. Try to get wheels with tires installed for the best deal.
Make sure you buy original Porsche, not after-market.
The Porsche models are much lighter.
