I may be odd, but I dislike leather. I grew up in a very hot area, and no matter what people say, leather does not breathe. Better than vinyl for sure, but not nearly as well as cloth.

It would be hard to do in velour, but you could have it screenprinted. If I redo my seats, I'm thinking of screenprinting pascha Alcantara for the center panels.

Would it surprise anyone if I disagreed

For me it's the "sweat test". If I get into the car on a hot day in shorts, and my legs are touching the seat, will my legs sweat? With leather, yes. With cloth, no.

Maybe Paul Champagne can back me up on this [note that I got your name right this time], but the guy who re-tanned my leather interior told me when I showed him a picture of the Op-Art interior while handing him the black seat skins that currently grace my '85...told me that he could indeed easily emulate that odd pattern via white leather paint....on the leather.

I didn't take him up on this, but the notion of a full-leather Op-Art interior has intrigued me for years! I suspect this particular individual, based upon the work he did on my car, could in fact build a reasonable facscimile of the famous pattern. Would the edges be smooth and "unripped"? That's the question...when considering this particular person. This guy did an average job- I'll give him a "B+" on the interior work on my car. But it taught me that a really good leather artist could indeed do an Op-Art leather interior that would be perfect.

Email me with the year of your car and I'll see if I can find combo infos in my brochure stash.

I love the stuff, too, and I think it's quintessential clean-sheet Porsche 928. All their early ads featured it. (My wife just thinks it's weird and funny-ugly.)

Have your folks ask who manufactured it. Post info on the sources you found.

Paul i would love to see you do the Pascha on leather!!

The dyes out there today are EXTREMELY durable. I redyed my leather flight bag black, specifically PORSCHE BLACK, over 5 years ago using a water based Colorplus product applied with my airbrush. This bag sees some abuse (good thing it cant talk though and it still looks great!

I imagine it would take some design work with some printing software to nail/duplicate the pattern then some how get rolls of it printed on to some leather? I dunno...im not in the textiles industry. Sure would be cool though.
Granted the cloth is part of the character of the pattern, but hey, in leather it sure would be somehting to see!

Imagine all the color combos!!

heres my fav pics of the interior.

Cool, Tony. You're saying that these are original color combos? The Pascha appears to be "black & white/gray"? Want to trade? My faded black would look pretty good with that green leather

Everything is for sale for the right price, you just have to want it bad enough!

Yes, there is one of these mini skirts for sale on ebay right now - brand new with tags, and it might even fit me. I normally would not wear minis. But being Pascha it's tempting. Where can I find an extra $150 or so for something I don't need?
