Under dash ground wires
I get some intermittent noise through my speakers from pushing switches, turn signals, etc. I think this is usually caused by grounds needing a good cleaning. I cleaned one or two up near the headlights a while back, and one or two in the rear hatch.
I tried to find the ones under the driver's side dash yesterday(you know the drill, seat all the way forward and reclined, put feet up, open door, and manuever upper body and head under the steering wheel) and didn't see any grounds and apparently there are two. So either I'm blind or they are a little hidden.
I have an early car. I read somewhere that at least one of the grounds may be hidden by the upper fuses in early cars)
Can someone explain where they are to me like I'm slow (because I might be)?

On my 1984 car, there are grounds that can only be accessed by removing the fuse/relay panel. Removing the panel is not too bad. 2 screws. Then there are posts on each side of the panel. On the right side there is a slot that angles upward. Pull the panel upward and reward to remove the post from the slot. On the left hand side is a hole that the post fits into. While you're in there, remove the relays (one at a time) and spray the male and female contacts with a good grade contact cleaner.
