Default barn 924 "barn find"

So, times are tough in these parts. Western Canadian economy is hurting.

Logic (my wife) told me to avoid my big money S2 or 951 purchase.

But I still bought a "Barn find". Here are some pics from the original advertisement.

I will keep this 38 year car original. I think its a thing of beauty. Wish I had better pictures. I got goose bumps when ALL the lights came on & the head lights flipped up at the press of a single toggle switch.

Your 8v build moved into that car would be quick! So it's a 77? 4 speed?

Yes sir. But there's a long winded stressful HELL story about trying to drive it home and things not working out as planned. I'm a mess today.

77? thats quite rare....your car looks great...now you're the care taker for it.
Happy you want to keep it original. Do enjoy it tho.
best of luck.

Thanks brother. I think the dude said it was a 78. When did they change gas tank filler caps?

I must be too young (at age 40) to remember legitimate reasons to hate on the 924.

If it wasn't for the 924 the 944 wouldn't be the car they are today. Agree?
Historically important cars. A good investment? My dad always told me cars are a bad investment.

"If it says Porsche on it then Porsche feels it's their quality." I read this; someone's comment on a forum a couple of years ago. Tough to argue!

Heck, you know the history... they designed it and felt it was a brilliant product for the time when introduced.

I'm not one to argue.

I think it's a brilliant product, just like the 944. And in western Canada, we are boom and bust and real oil country. The oil bust is happening.... political climate is uncertain... time to get back to BASICS. Time to get back to the 924.

Heck, half the world doesn't even know there is a difference between the 944na and the 924 anyway. Hahaha

The only thing I can't stand about the 924 2.0l is the factory wheel choice. The 931 wheels look so much nicer IMO... or the 4 lug BBS wheels that are on Weissach edition 924s.

FOR V2: http://jalopnik.com/i-apparently-wan...924-1653772817

Hey anyone got a spare 924 timing belt cover?
Mine doesn't have one.

I might also need a clutch or 4 speed transmission.

Where are the best places to get parts?

Hi Noah, looking good! I'm building the 944 race car with Justin, he's been buying some parts off you lately to help our build. One of the guys on our team, Brock, should post here shortly, he owns a few 924s and might have some parts for you...

Nice two-tone 924!

I might have a timing belt cover. Do you need anything else? I will be headed over to my parents place where a lot of my 924 parts are and can take a look tonight.
