Ah yes. Next question is what Darton sleeves? I only see the 3.0 block sleeves can be bored to that size on their site.

If you look at the specs on the sleeves the OD of the sleeves and wall thickness is the same for both the 3.0 and 2.5 Sleeves . A call to Darton and they say you can bore either to 106mm . It stands to reason if the thickness is the same on both why couldn't you. Its working so far .No gasketing problems no overheating .If I hurt the motor I'll take it apart and figure out why.

how could the OD and wall thickness be the same with 4mm different bore?

or do you mean the same basic sleeve they install but then just bore out larger for the 3.0?

Same basic sleeve just bore it out bigger for 3.0 . Remember when I was talking to Darton I told them this was a NA application never was turbo charging brought up in our discussion. Would it make a difference I don't know. The machine shop had no concerns and if they did they would have voiced them..

It would be that.At 103mm wall thickness would be .322 thick at 104mm it would be .283 At 105 it would be .244 and at 106mm it would be .204 . These are not measured thickness but computed ones using specs from Darton on there sleeves both the 2.5 and 3.0 sleeves are .377 thick have a beginning size of 101.6mm or 3.980 inches .The rest is simple math . Why they give different max bore I don't know .

.377 wall"?
you could drop a hand grenade in there, and just bore it oversize.
