If someone could recommend a shop which rebuilds brake calipers for a 944 turbo, I would greatly appreciate it. I purchased all the seals and scraper rings and successfully rebuilt one but have been fighting installing one piston in a second caliper for several hours and have thrown in the towel.

I am interested in having mine rebuilt, powder coating and aesthetics is not a concern.

If you're willing to ship them to Utah; you will not be disappointed with the workmanship or customer service from Eric at PMB Performance. I know dozens of people that have used his services (including myself) on 914s.

I sent my Brembo 4 piston calipers from my 1991 S2 to PMB in Utah for a full refurbishment. They
received them on June 25, and I am still waiting to get them back. I expect them to arrive this week
based on what I have been told. I'll post pics of the final product. Here's a before pic:

I have rebuilt 8 of these, no expert, but I've done it a few times. What is the problem with the last piston? Putting them back in should be easy. Are you sure someone didn't mess up the order and send you the wrong sized piston by mistake? Getting all 4 out can sometimes take some time. An air compressor and a couple of pieces of wood to hold the other 3 Pistons in just enough to hold pressure while trying to force that 4th one out and keeping your fingers out of the way is where it gets tricky. I removed the pistons on at a time, so mixing them up is not an issue. For some reason the 36mm piston does not want to slide past the new seal on installation. I am going to try freeze the piston in the hopes it will shrink enough to slide past the seal.

Any suggestions are welcome.

I had the same problem, some pistons were very difficult to push past the seals.

Painted might not be a problem but if powder coated there might be some clearance issues during pad installation.

These are my rears that were done by PMB. You can see that the caliper on the left (which is the right
rear) has corrosion pushing up (warping) the lower spring plate and the pads won't slide in.

I don't want to do the grind-the-pads kludge, so will have to figure this out. Anyone have a good used,
ready to install right rear for an S2?

I had Phoenix Brake Co in Chicago do a set for my wife's 968, they did great work at a reasonable price.
