$75 is cheaper than you could buy a 924 shaft for (if you can find one) and modify it.
At least, I would drop $75 without hesitation if the alternative were me having to make something...lol

Also, the 924 shaft would have even older U-joints than the 944, which is really what you're paying for with Rennbay.

Please-o-please I hope they're not coming from China. I'd pay 3x the cost to make sure it's a high quality N.American or European produced part.

Default Manual Steering Shaft Group Buy

I believe they are from China. But I just installed one on my 86 turbo with power steering and wow, what a difference. Steering is much tighter and doesn't wander like it used to. Also eliminated my knocking from the front end. Swapping the shaft out was a pain so I'm hoping this shaft goes the distance. I'll check back in when I put more than a few k on it and look at the condition. Seems like a pretty solid product. Would not have done the job if I had real doubts.

No, they are different lengths. I bought one of these power steering shafts:

When I made my last post, I assumed the source of the new manual steering shafts would be the same as the above shaft that I purchased (synamas products group).

We are still pretty far short of the numbers we need. Travis mentioned that he could have some of the power shafts modified to fit the manual rack, but 944online already offers something like that at a similar price point. I'm pretty surprised we didn't get more interest for this since it is such a common need, but so far it just isn't feasible.

With the only difference being the length, I'm surprised it would be any trouble at all to get this done. 0$ in product development on this one.
