Default I keep cutting lower coolant hoses with the PS pulley

Anyone else have a problem with this? I've cut the 4th hose in the last year today and i know its because the driveline moves around. Any thoughts on fixes besides just going to semi-solid motor mounts? i filled the trans mount in hope it would help this a little bit but it didn't do anything for me.

Starting to get a bit annoyed by this. This one only made it a month in the car.

I just trimmed the end of the hose so it doesn't sit so close.

are you using the right hose?
they changed the design between 82-85 and 85.5-89 when the radiator moved down due to body structure change.

new style hose is curved differently to clear.

you could get a tighter elbow to hook to the rad and a hard pipe clamped to the big end of that hose to the wp?

See below. It isn't totally obvious but the turbo and NA are different lengths at the radiator end. The NA hose has a very thick, tough sleeve over it right where the PS pulley is. Aftermarket hoses don't always have that

Is the s2 radiator or hose differnt than the 968? That might be your problem. Did Bob go through hoses too? How are your motor mounts?

Have you checked your lower radiator mounts?

I've been running the uro hoses with the thick extra jacket on them, I'm pretty sure the mounts are getting a bit old. I'll try trimming the next one for extra clearance and also check the lower mounts for the radiator. I had not thought of looking at that.

I'll update after I get my hoses in hand (got a spare lol)

For a while I had a piece of sheet metal hose-clamped over my hose where the pulley was hitting. Doesn't solve the problem but good peace of mind.
