Default 951 reference sensor question

Does anybody know if the speed sensor and reference sensor is easy or difficult to access. Just wondering.

You can access them but expect grazed knuckles.

They're sort of not bad to access. I left the intake on I think but I moved some of the wiring and tubing out of the way. If yours are permanently welded to the bracket and you need to replace them, heaven help you. This was the single most painful experience in my 951 life. A cold chisel to the ref sensor bracket was the final solution

I found it easier to pull the intake and tied some cables and lines back with tie wraps (zip ties) and then clamped a set of vise grips on the top of the sensor and sprayed some nut buster in there (don't know if it helped but it didn't hurt) and then twisted the vise gripes while pulling up. It took a fair amount of twisting but it eventually came out. Make sure you plug the viewing hole on the bell housing up with something so nothing falls in there.

Mine came right out. It took all of 15 minutes to swap them. I think it took longer to re-route the longer wire on the new ones than it took to R&R the sensors.

Yeah, it's easy when they are not seized. A little anti-seize and a bit of sanding goes a long way for next time.
