No pic yet, but I just added them. You'll need 4.

Jason. Time to replace shocks on 1986 944. Option codes show car came with front rear jsport shocks. Unknown info on front, rear white shocks. Appear KYB brand. So I am looking at stock or minimal upgrade from stock with possible front springs in street car that will see some auto cross DE. Car also came front rear sway bars. Also planning om sway bar bushings sure they are long gone
Does not have to adjustable style

Any suggestions???

Thanks Jason, especially for telling me I needed 4 since I didn't do that right.

I sort of panicked at the last minute when I decided I really needed to replace all 4 shocks and wanted to order your 8641-1414S kit for the front since I have a late model car, it's an '89 S2. Koni recommends pairing that strut with the 8040-1035S. At the last minute I decided to not go with the 30 series even though it would allow for coil overs in the future just because it wasn't a "matched" combination.

What I'm trying to do with what I call my "stage I" suspension is get as close as possible to the M030 using contemporary parts. If I've made a mistake by not installing the Koni 30 series in the rear please let me know, it's not too late yet since I don't think you've shipped the parts.

Any advice or opinions you'd care to make public on this subject would be welcome. I'm building a track car, however like so many others, I'd like to be able to drive it on the street, if only between my shop and the track. This isn't a weekend street racer, what I'm trying to do is reproduce the feel of a 1991 Firehawk car so any advice you can provide on the best way to get there will be welcome, but I should warn you up front that if there's a Koni 28 series suspension in my future, it's in "stage II"

BTW, I've replaced front and rear sway bars with the LR 30mm front/19mm rear M030 reproduction. I've also had a complete set of Delrin bushings fabricated for the new sway bars and links. The car has LR adjustable rear drop links. I'm running the stock front springs and rear torsion bars for this stage.

And another thing; none of this is time critical so if necessary you can hold my order while we hash out the details My transmission is going into the shop next week for an LSD installation + trans. oil cooler thanks to the fine services of FlyingHorseMotorSports and DarkHorse. I don't expect it back for at least a couple of weeks so I have time on my hands, which is sort of rare...

The no brainer part is the Koni's. Fronts are 8641-1038 Sport:
http://www.paragon-products.com/Koni...8641-1038s.htm
and the rears are the 8040-1035 Sport:
http://www.paragon-products.com/Koni...8040-1035s.htm

Since you won't be changing torsion bars or adding any additional spring rate on the back, I wouldn't go crazy with additional spring rate on the front or you'll increase understeer. I normally recommend 200# front springs in this situation. You can choose between the Weltmeisters:
http://www.paragon-products.com/Lowe...elt_sp-200.htm
or go with our Adjustable setup:

If you like, lower the rear a tad to match the front:

Measure your sway bars front and rear. Lots of bushing options:

Sounds like a phone conversation would be good about right now. We won't process your order yet....I'll give you a call this morning.
