Default *** PICS of my 924S wide arch kit and wide Fuchs ***

Hello all,

just thought i would share some pics from my race 924S.

I am installing a wide arch kit and 7, 8x15 Fuchs.
The reason is: 3,0 S2 engine needs more traction

Here is the build. Not ready yet

Do you like ?

Here is before pics with 931 wheels

and finally Carrera RS size original fuchs 7 & 8x15

the wide arch conversion begins.

we need to cut the fenders so the wide Fuchs fit under the flares.

We plan to make a replica of the Lemans 924 turbo look

car is stripped as it will be resprayed as well

same on the rear. Testing the fitment

Find a Transaxle with an LSD if you don't have one already, that will really help your traction issues. Looks cool, i love 924's. If my S2 should suffer the fate of my 924S and get rear ended, im pretty much doing what you are, stuffing the motor in a 924S chassis with anything else i can save.

Thank you for your kind comments

Here's some progress
Car is now resprayed and is getting assembled.

Here are some pictures where you can see how we had to cut the wings to create some clearance for the wide 7 and 8x15 Fuchs

Loads of reworking on the flares too (extensions)

I know that many of you will say that i shouldnt have cut the fenders. Remember that this is a racecar with a 944 S2 engine. It begs for traction compared to the 924 turbo 6x15 that i used on the back
Lost it a bit under braking here....

and one with front wheel lift.

We are getting there. Still not decided what colour to paint Fuchs. Might got for black (safe) of white (pearl)

Here how she looks with flares assembled after painting.

Love the the way your car came out.
Where did you source the flares?
Like the idea of pearl on the wheels.
How hard was it to remove the roof rails that run up the windhshield and edge of the roof? Ive painted a few 944's but never removed them (track cars)

Good job stv,

May I ask you some questions regarding your changes:

Has the wider track with the Fuch's Windmill wheels assisted traction or not?

Was you not using a 225/50/16 rear tyre with the D90's ? and this is the same now on your 8x16 fuch?

Is the steering a Manual Rack / if so how much heavier is the steering
and does the car handle much different / worst etc..?

Lastly front rollbar (Sway) what size 26.8 or 30mm?

I think Satin Black Wheel Centre on this Red car will look very nice..
