The TT in my 951 makes a HELL of a racket, but its been that way for years and it hasnt gotten any worse. At least for me its easy to ignore in a stripped car with so much other noise going on around you, but to give you an idea of how loud it is, in my gutted car at speed, its easily the loudest sound in the car, definitely drowns out the exhaust note since its right underneath me. That being said, since you're already at the TT, if I were you I would replace the bearings. You have several to choose from, ranging from cheap to uber expensive. The jury is still out if the cheap bearings hold up over time.

You could always swap in a good torque tube from a different car. 951 torque tubes are different (not sure how - are they stronger?) but even an NA one will be fine. Admiralkhole ran his V8 swapped car with an NA tube (which is now in my car) and it's still fine.
