Pics of "rally" light bars?
wondering if anybody has pictures of their race cars or toys with extra lamps fitted to the front...
Occasionally I drive in remote areas where the headlights are shooting into a black hole (I have 55w fogs, 100w driving lights, and 55/60w E-code popups, all on full blast) and I would like some more lighting ability.
I am thinking of making a simple bar that attaches to the turbo tow-eye (and maybe some aircraft landing lights ) so it's easily removable...looking for inspiration.

Put the 90/130w bulbs in your e codes if you can. They help a lot in the middle of nowhere and it's a cheap upgrade for your current setup. Is everything on a relay harness too? This improves performance as well, vdroop sucks and robs you of lumens. You need to have a harness on the e codes if you put the big bulbs in it.

I was sick of my lighting at night too. Bought some cheap 55w silverstars from advance auto thinking maybe they were just old but there wasn't an improvement. Then I made a relay harness and there was a huge difference. I used thick enough gauge wiring to be able to use 100w bulbs but honestly I don't see the point other than bragging rights or blinding people.

Burning Brakes
You won't blind people if you aim your headlights properly. I have the Rennbay e-code kit and the output is pretty amazing. I have a 38 mile two lane country drive to work, and they sure do help with looking for deer and coons.
As far as the light bar, I really want to do the same. I have a bunch of pics saved on my work computer. Do a google search "Porsche 944 rally lights".

This was an old 944 race car back in the early 80's and has since been retired from racing but the owner still keeps most of the original parts and patina on it
Hard for me to find good close up pictures of the light bar area though. These are probably the best I've got.

Kind of like that 924 they found behind a stack of boxes under a blanket in the museum?
Anyway, I'm thinking of lights lower than the ones pictured, basically level with the turn signal of the turbo nose.
Just an idea kicking around my head that maybe I'll try...

Light Bar
Here is out light bar. I wanted to make it easily removable as we do very few night events.
It attaches with 1/4 turn Camloc fasteners, and has a Deutsch connector though the front vent. I originally used the included 55 watt H3 bulbs, but then decided to go to 100w.
Yes, they are mounted a tad low, but with 200watts it works. Plus, when they are removed you cannot really see the mounts.
