Police say they don’t yet know why or how a Duluth man was killed inside his home last week.
The key to unlocking the mystery: Don Singer’s missing red Porsche, according to investigators.
Singer, 57, was found by his daughter Thursday afternoon wrapped in blankets inside his garage on Montheath Pass. He was last seen March 23, according to Duluth police.
“I just tried calling him, I tried calling him for three days, four days and he wouldn’t answer,” Singer’s friend, Noverto Maltos, told Channel 2 Action News.
Duluth Police Capt. Mark Hunter said investigators are awaiting toxicology results along with additional forensic testing before determining a cause of death.
Even though the victim’s 1988 Porsche 944, with a Georgia tag ADK 6725, is missing, police won’t say whether robbery was the motive for the slaying.

Weird, I had a problem with a certain rennlister from Duluth, GA when I attempted to purchase a 944S2 LSD transaxle from him and he decided to keep the cash and not send it.
I wonder if he upgraded to stealing cars and murder rather than making fraudulent internet sales.

Duluth Police are looking for Robert Craig Sandman, 52, in connection with the theft of a red 1988 Porsche 944 stolen from the home of a Duluth murder victim between March 24 and 29.
Investigation into the case resulted in the issuance of a criminal arrest warrant for Sandman on a charge of theft by taking for the missing car, according to Capt. M.A. Hunter with the Duluth PD’s Criminal Investigations Unit.
The Duluth Police Department is actively searching for Sandman and the missing 1988 Porsche, Hunter said in a news release issued April 3. The Porsche has a Georgia license plate of ADK 6725.
Duluth Police found the body of Donald Singer, 57, wrapped in a blanket in the garage of his home on Montheath Pass March 28. Singer’s daughter called 911 after discovering his body.
It was determined that Singer’s Porsch was missing along with some personal effects. A BOLO was issued for the Porsche by police.
Singer was apparently killed between 7 a.m. March 24 and 3 p.m. March 26. The exact cause of death has not yet been determined.
The investigation is ongoing, additional charges and or additional suspects may be pending, Hunter said.
