Default Is anybody willing to part with thier Thule or factory roof rack?

I travel a lot with my bikes and I am in dire need of a rack. I have tons of Thule attachments, but Thule no longer makes the clips. It looks like they will work with the factory rack. Please let me know.

BTW, the Thule clips for my 968 are unique. I don't think the Thule clips for the 944 will work.

Thanks!

I've got a set of Thule towers/pads/clips for a 944. Are you sure 968's are unique? I've got both a 944 and 968, and the roofs are the same...

According to Thule's fit list, the 944 uses kit 34 and the 968 uses kit 170. Oddly, Yakima has only one clip for both cars (Q4). I just chalked that to better enginneering on Yakima's part. I don't want to buy all new Yakima stuff when I have a ton of Thule equipment in my garage. The accessories get pricey.

I own a 968 and don't have any experience with the 944. The roofs look similar to me. Does your rack work on either car? Does the rear bar mount behind the door jam or is it within?

They are the same roof. The only thing I can think of is early 944's had slightly different drip rails than later ones and 968s...but that said, they're interchangeable. The rear bar mounts behind the door jamb.

Saweet! This significantly improves my chances and I could save some serious coin. Now if I can find some #34 clips.... I'll check ebay.

I would like to get a roof mounted bike rack. How quickly can they be taken on/off of the roof? How much do they cost? I looked on Yakima's site and it quoted around $500 USD. That seems like a lot, it probably could be had for less.

Resurrecting an old thread here. I'm looking for a Thule Fit Kit 034 (944) or 170 (968). If anyone has one for sale, or knows where one can be acquired, please let me know. I've already got the other Thule components and would love to use them on my '90 S2 for quick surf trips, if possible. Thanks.

Default AFM barn door hanging up when all the way open?

i have been relentlessly troubleshooting a crank no start for three months.I just took off my Bosch AFM.with the barn door approx half to three quarters open i get a high pitched squeek(metal on metal sound and the barn door does not open as smooth..there is even resistance.if i release the door slowly it can even hang up and get stuck open.i am about to do the 9volt battery test as outlined in clarks garage..but before i do any suggestions on this barn door "sticking"?

The top of barn door inside the AFM is the sticking point...any ideas what kind of problems this may cause?possible crank no start?
