Default DIY: Arnnworx Wiper Delete Plug

I ordered my metal wiper delete plug from www.arnnworx.com for $15 +shipping. It took 2-3 weeks to arrive to Canada (but thats probably USPS's fault not arnnworx's. It's typical of USPS to take forever delivering via ground shipping)
(You'll have to excuse the poor picture quality, i was in a poorly lit garage using a blackberry for a camera)

The factory wiper arm:

First undo the 10mm nut holding down the arm and remove the arm by pulling straight up.

From the underside, push in, then down on the center tab to release the cover:

Revealing:

Now back at the top, pull up on the rubber cap and undo the 17mm nut:

After the nut is free, you can pull down on the motor:

With the front of the motor assembly free, pull the whole unit forwards, releasing the two ground pins from their supports:

Back up top, you will have the factory washer/grommet leftover. They will pop off the glass very easily:

Revealing the blank hole in the glass:

Now it's time for the delete plug:

Take your Arnnworx delete plug, and with the o-ring/nut removed, slide the top piece through the hole:

Install the o-ring and nut, and tighten down the 17mm nut:

Enjoy your new wiper delete plug:

Bruce's tools for doing timing/waterpump and balance belts and stuff is top notch. I recommend buying them.

That's quite a rough design. Iv got 2 peace off alloy that screw together and are flat both sides. That plug could easily be created from a bar end off a push bike

The issue is the nut on the inside is way too big. It is not like you ar holding much on there.

It looks like crap that is how it is an issue. Looks very rough.

The external cap is fine. The interal looks bad and leaves little room under there. More space than with the motor, but I just think the inside should be less pronouced.

Jeff, what did you do with the cable that powers the motor.
Mine is just hanging there.

It's underneath, i could care less how it looks underneath when its close, plus my car is tinted so i'll never see it unless its open. And as for little room, it hardly creates a problem, its a 10mm nut vs. a 4x5" box

I tapped mine up to the hatch frame, under the black part, but with moisture etc, it just keeps falling off.

Thanks for the write up and pictures.
