headlights wont go down..
Drove home from work and pulled into the garage. flipped the headlight switch and the lights turned off but they wouldnt go down. The left one went down just a little and stopped and the right didnt go down at all. Its an 87 924S and i never had any problems with the headlights before..

Probably a relay... on the side of the motor. check that guy or the fuse first. Also know that you can manually lower them so your car doesn't look like it's hopped up on Mt. Dew.

I dunno. you have your owners manual? I don't have my 924S anymore so I can't just go check... but with the old ceramic bus fuses it's really not hard to see which is blown...

I am not sure if its the same on a 924s, but in 944, there is a a relay on the actual actuator -> its a black boot covered cylinder in the front of the car next to the bar that raises and lowers the headlights. I'd also check the fusebox -> I had the same problem with my car, and it turns out my fusebox wiring had shorted out.

Not sure which fuse it is. look inside your fuse box and look at the diagram inside the box. may be glued to the inside of the lid. Try that first.
There is is a relay and its part # 111 943 383c and they cost $30. You may want to take off the rubber cover and open and close them. clean it and see if that works. Thats what happened on my 944. if not then its the motor. ($150 - $400)

I can look in the morning in my manual and post up which fuse your looking for. Its worth buying a replacement manual for the fuse/relay charts. Its saved my *** on road trips a few times now, knowing which relay to jiggle/remove/reinsert is pretty helpful.

no worries macho. Kevs, the 924S has the fusebox under the dash instead of in the engine compartment. it doesn't tell you on the lid like it does on the 944 which fuse is which unfortunately.

welp just got a chance to look at it and the car wouldnt turn so batterys dead...im currently charging it and i plan on driving it for a while see if it holds a charge..and of course if the lights go down..its so weird because the car has been running great and starting up perfectly. no problems with the battery even when the car sat for a couple weeks during the winter...

Pull the rubber boot off the motor beside the washer tank/power steering resevoir. Alos turn the **** on top of the headlamp motor to put the lamps down, then check relay and fuses. My 924S acts up every year or so. i just turn the manual actuator and everything is fine.

Ok so i turned the manual **** on the motor and noticed the plastic surround on the right light was off and not letting the light to go down. I manipulated the plastic to get the lights down by hand. Also got the car started by jumping it and ran it for a while to try to charge the battery. Im hoping the battery problem goes away seeing as its only a 4 year old battery. Its an interstate with a 72month warranty but i obv dont have the receipt cause it came with the car, do you think they will still uphold the warranty? and if not what battery should i go with?

I like the drycell batteries to be honest with you, but you might have some difficulty finding one that will fit under the hood. I don't have the battery number, but I remember I've seen Optima yellow tops that will fit under the hood.
