FS 944 spares Garage Cleanout UPDATE
UPDATE 24 DEC 2010: Okay guys still cleaning out some stuff...finding new things all the time. Please offer, I need these things out of my garage!
Time for the post-ownership garage cleanout. I'll have to take pictures and do a little bit more searching around but I know I have all of the following.
Price is OBO, shipping not included, pickup in Jacksonville, FL is free!
1. gutted sunroof panel with factory panel bag $60
This is a guards red (original paint I think, with 2 white racing stripes and a Rennbay decal!) roof panel that I removed the interior from to increase the available headroom in the car. I used it for a DE and it was great! I'm 6'1" and I fit fine with stock seats sitting upright. It made the difference for that last inch. Includes sunroof seal and at least on my car it sealed up well and did not leak when left out in the rain. Also includes the leather bag you zip it up in.
2. 16x7" phone dial with great paint. Late offset. $45 sold to YellowLine
3. (8) Phone dial metal center caps. $25 per set of 4, $40 for all 8
Probably work with lots of different types of wheels. I have one set in original worn finish and one set that is worn chrome.
4. NA intake J-boot. $3
Had a small crack that I repaired with some special void-filling foaming glue. I ran it for quite some time this way without a problem.
5. Complete throttle with attached TPS and spare TPS. $40
I'll check the TPS with a multimeter. I would also highly recommend getting a throttle re-seal kit (I think rennbay sells them) anytime you are replacing your throttle body. Does not include throttle cam or the 4 allen bolts.
6. AFM with 150k+ miles. $8
I replaced this unit with a less-used one. While it still worked, it didn't work perfectly. Could probably be cleaned/reconditioned though. Maybe used as a base for a MAF project or something.
7. Front set of PBC Metal Master brake pads $12 SOLD! to BruinGolf
8. Full set of mystery brake pads $5 SOLD! to BruinGolf
9. NA front Brake calipers $50 for the pair SOLD! to Sterling Doc
10. H4 bulbs. 1 55/60W $3
2 100w/130w Yellow Stars $10 for the pair
1 H3 bulb (I think these are for the fog lights) $3
The Yellow Stars are technically off-road only and require an upgraded headlight harness/relay such as rennbay's or ice shark. That being said, it was the best cosmetic upgrade I ever did to my 944.
11. Used factory aluminum lug nuts. $1 sold to PeteL
12. Used BFG R1 DOT-rcomp tires. $30 per tire
I have a small collection of these tires now. The unmounted spares I have now are 225/45 17 and 245/45/17. I have at least one in each of those sizes that are used but have enough tread for continued autocross (at least a season) or DE use.
13. Used 17" 225/45/17 street tires. All-season. $20 per tire
I have 2 Michelin Eagle F1s. Great tires with especially stiff sidewalls. The other two wore down because they were not rotated on a timely basis (oops) but these have 5/32" at least and 7/32" towards the outside.
I have 2 toyo proxes 4 that suffered the same fate. Tires with good tread life left because the other 2 in the set wore out prematurely.
14. 10" sub with attached phoenix gold amp. $80 SOLD! to PeteL
15. Rennbay tie down / tow hook. Red. $24 sold to Dimi 944
16. Marine blue sunroof lifting gear cover. $10
This is the interior piece that fits over the lifting mechanisms for the sunroof. Cardboard wing-shaped thing with marine blue vinyl. Vinyl is apart from the cardboard, ready to be re-glued. Both are factory pieces in great condition; they just need to be glued together and installed.
17. Unused white-faced VDO 100psi Fuel pressure gauge (the one from the lindsey kit) $35 sold to Dimi 944
18. VDO *F Oil Temp Gauge. $25
I did install and use this, it was great! I used an ebay oil filter sandwich plate to thread the sending unit into.
Just the gauge, no sender or anything else.
19. NA torsion bars from factory M456 sport package. $20
Caliper says they are 23.8mm, which I guess makes them 23.5s.
20. Brand new front wheel bearing. $20 SOLD! to Sterling Doc
21. Blue Lindsey silicone Vacuum hoses. $10 SOLD! to Sterling Doc
22. (4) 2.7L intake gaskets. These are particular to the 2.7L head. Brand new, $5 for the set.
23. Two copper oil drain plug sealing rings. FREE
24. Rubber exhaust hanger bushing new in bag. $2
25. NA Foglight housing. I guess it could be rebuildable with a lens. FREE
26. Starter. Worked but the solenoid was sticking. $5 SOLD! to Sterling Doc
27. 1989 2.7L fuel pressure reg and fuel pressure damper. $3 apiece or $8 for the pair.
28. Interior bulbs...but I forget to what. $0.50 apiece
29. Used expansion tank. Still mostly white-ish and transparent. Could use a cleaning. $18
30. 2 German Behr expansion tank caps. Genuine "auf" and "zu" directions for open/close. Used but working great when I used it for awhile. Free with the expansion tank or $3 for both of them.
31. Tensioner struts. $5 for the pair.
I have one alt tensioner and one power steering pump tensioner. Each one has a broken threaded eye on one end. So you can either add 2 new eyes or make one good strut out of these. Look up how much these cost on DC Auto and you will realize that this is a steal if you need them.
32. New Contitech alternator / air conditioning belt. $5. Was stored in a ziploc bag. Still has tag!
33. Gong relay. Fully functional, but I removed it because I hate when machines beep at me. Totally forgot to put it back in when I sold the car!
Free to John Torg since it should have been in the relay box with the car or $1 to anyone else.
34. K&N Recharge Kit $5 local pickup only
35. Pair of late offset control arms with rennbay ball joint kits installed. $20
They need new ball joint bushings, and I HIGHLY recommend the bronze ones. Comes with a bag of extra parts from the ball joint kit, which includes bolts for where the strut clamps onto the ball joint.
36. Genuine Porsche NIB transmission main shaft bearing 016 311 445 $30
They cost $88 at pelicanparts!
37. New rear main seal. Came with a clutch kit but not installed. $3
38. Small misc coolant hoses (3, NEW) for the heater control valve. $10 for all 3
39. Misc. Plastic engine bay bits: ignition coil cover, clip for plug wires, and circular snorkel plug that goes into the fender for cars that don't have the snorkel running into the driver's side fender. Also the cone that bolts onto the back of the alternator for cooling and its associated duct. $1 apiece
40. Used factory spark plug wires $5 for the set
41. License plate bracket from my old front plate. $1
42. Well-loved Haynes manual. No cover but the rest of it is more or less there. FREE
43. Marine Blue leather pieces for the top and bottom of an NA steering wheel with matching thread. From AGLA. $5
I just used the part that covers the part of the wheel you touch; the rest of my wheel was in good shape so this is left over.
44. Box full of...well I think they are some sort of valve seals or something. They came with a top end rebuild kit I got but they were never installed. They are circular, with springs around the top. $4
45. Special screw for speed/ref sensors. $5 If you've ever lost one (as I did), you know how irreplaceable these are.
47. Pair of strut mounts. One of the bearings is stiff but the other mount looks good. $8 for the pair
48. Pair of used BMW e46 factory strut mounts. No visual damage, bearings in great shape, and pretty clean. $5 for the pair
PM or post an offer, I need these parts GONE!

Mark,
I am still unsure exactly where that parts tranny is...and I think I may be able to get my folks to take the seat back.

Interested in your H4 bulbs and K&N recharge kit. Any chance you might have a clutch slave cylinder and a thermostat kit for a 944 in your "treasures"? Also looking for the thermostat retaining spring clip/ring. PM Sent.

Bump to the top. Okay guys, I should be able to send some parts out tomorrow.
Also to add, I have some 944 specialty tools still in the package. I have:
1. steering rack centering bolt $3
2. p221 toe adjustment tool $30 (does this work on a 996? I'll keep it if it does...)
3. spanner wrench (for coilover adjustment) $11
