SKI,
I am totally with you on the classic Fuchs look, those will stay on my gtSix biturbo.
As far how quick our paddock crew can get our centerlocks off compared to 20 lugs, it is night and day.
We plan to run this car in several club enduros through the year. The quicker tire changes get us back in the right pecking order upon track re-entry. You can't beat on board air jacks, center locks and guys with

Heavy engine?
Don't you feel that the Cayenne engine is very heavy and big?
If you compare it to an Audi V8 which weights around 215kg the Cayenne engine is far more heavy 292kg without servopump, oil filter or oilpump?

Sorry for keeping the Renn community in the dark for so long. The car has been making great progress towards its transformation. Here are several pics to keep you all up to date.
The Carillo pistons and rods have recently arrived with the engine builder.
Also, the HID headlight units from Hella have arrived! These little guys are very bright for those day into night POC Tribute to LeMans races. The quality of these Hella units is hella good, haha. We'll also be incorporating 2, 10'' LED light bars, one on each side for even brighter lighting conditions (more pics of this later).
To an extent just as an example for reference, this is what the headlights will look like within the fenders, albeit much cleaner etc.
Well, after the weight loss from the engine rebuild it will be significantly lighter than a stock Cayenne TT engine, but with this engine's 1xxxRWHP/1xxxRWTQ, is a few kg really going to make much of a difference?

Nice build plan!
Just a suggestion on the lighting ... you can make your own Hella HID lights for a fraction of the cost.
Just convert Micro DE Hella H3 halogen lights to HID driving lights ($100 vs $500). See this post for details:

Ted, thank you for that suggestion/link. Definitely will use this technique on the next
914 project.
Throttle body with tps, same unit supplied to the Action Express Daytona racer. We will not be using the velocity cone, as the engine is forced induction. But it will make a cool pen + pencil holder on my desk !

Matty-when are you shooting to have this project complete, and is it your intention to sell the car?
-forgive my ignorance please.

Domer911 our goal is to have it on display in MSDS inc. exhibit at the 2014 SEMA show. This one will not be offered for sale, but we are building jigs for all of the Cayenne-to-914 conversion components. Turn key 9148gtt's can be built later on after #1 prototype.
