914/6 GT Body Panels
Does anyone know of a source for complete fenders and quarter panels with GT flares suitable for use in historic racing. The rules stipulate the GT as the "maximum" body type allowed so they could be no wider than original. This car currently has the AIR Group 5 bodywork, so I will need complete panels instead of just the flares. TIA.

Try GT-Racing and AIR for the fenders. They both have, or had, the full 914 fenders with GT flares.
I think the web sites are www.americaninternationalracing.com and www.gt-racing.com

Hi Bryan,
I'm looking for the same parts as you are.
So far I only found them at AirCooled Racing
http://www.aircooledracing.com
Not too expensive either
Now I've got to figure out to get them here at resonable costs 8^(
If you find any other sources, please let me know!
Cheers,
Jeroen - the Netherlands

Hi Guys,
There are some sets of Wheel arch extenions on sale in Germany - if you check out the www.914-sport-ig.de (in German of course) you can see some ads for them. This site also has a copy of the 914/6 homologation papers that shows what size the extensions had to be.
Jeroen, Do what "I've heard some people do" - find a friendly US person on overseas assignment (APO address) and get the parts sent to him (or her) - they get cheap postal rates and you don't actually import the parts.
My recommendation is that you find metal parts - I don't believe in the glassfibre approach.

Hi Irish Driver,
I've got the steel flares on my car right now
I must be mad be replacing them with fibreglass eh?
Building a semi-tubed racer, so I wanna save weight...
Thanks for the hint on APO-shipping though!
Cheers,
Jeroen
