Angry Brakes - is there a difference?

Hi all,

In my efforts to persuade a lot of metal oxide to impersonate a car again I've got one problem that the photos in the magazines just can't answer....

What is the exact difference between the rear brake caliper of a 914/4 and a 914/6 ?

All constructive comments appreciated !!

Bigger piston only, that's about it. Same size casing.

I think that would be the front only, since porsche hasn't made a 914-6 trailing arm and I've never seen one advertized.

The rear of the 914-4 is the same as older 911 (pre-1969). The 914-6 is the same as any rear 911 since 1969 up to and thru 1989. The pad shape is the same but the pad area is about 30% smaller...of course all of the 914 rears have the upper pin hole drilled larger to accomodate the larger pin. Does anyone know why they have a larger upper pin? Is it due to the emergency brake system being part of the caliper? I have wondered about this unusal pin for years.
