Default 930S Power Outuput difference between USA & ROW ?

Hello,

We have a 930 S American Spec car, I was under assumption the US version are 280hp and the ROW spec are 330hp.

What modifications were available via Porsche Exclusive that increased the power out put ?

The row version was 300hp, 330hp was the optional power kit.

Drop off the smog bullsheet and add some timing, you get 300. Not sure what the optional power kit was, because I'm stupid and haven't done my research.

Would anyone happen to have a photo of the intercooler in this power kit?

Allen
I think this is it...note the larger size and gold sticker. This car had the quad exhaust replaced with a std to pass emissions at one time. A SW slant.

Chris, nice photo.

Interesting...this IC doesn't look that much larger than a standard one. Maybe, 40 mm wider and 25 mm deeper. Hard to tell, but, the core could be 10 mm thicker. It's obviously different from stock, as it has a larger inlet end tank and appears to flow front to back versus side to side [stock].

Would you happen to know if the "power kit" had its own option code?

Chris, from that photo, it also appears the factory eschewed the hard up-pipe to the IC and went with a rubber hose, a la 965.

Do you know if that is indeed the case?

Do you know if the factory kept the original, piston-sprung, CBV on these SW engines? Any insight as to which cams these engines utilized?

I believe they used a short neck arrangement aka 930 vs the 965 style, not sure on the cams.

Some pics of my old 1989 930 S. I think the engine Pic better shows how different the intercooler is

Should never have sold this car ( sold in 2000 with 38k kilometers on the clock )
