I think adding some different collor accents would really make the car pop. I'm thinking some blue, red, or yellow graphics. What do you guys think?

I'm on the fence. I like shiny cars and Gary's orange car really came out nice, but the satin black may work. I guess I'd have to see one.

Is this car from the year 2015?

Maybe on the newer style cars its OK. But my 79 has some very fluid lines with complex curves that catches the light perfectly - when clean, it always looks wet. Somehow it would be a shame to dull that.

Brian - since you add a flattening agent, I assume you can wet sand any orange peel and it can easily be waxed?

Satin Black look would be HOT on a slant nose.
RUF had a "NATO" satin/flat drab green car back in the 80's.
There's also a flat black 930 I've seen on this board and in Excellence that's sick.

Go for it.

I don't care for it, it looks unfinished.

Do it if you think you would like it.

Me likey! What rims are you looking at? I'm not familiar with any black rims with fitment for our cars...wonder what flat guards red would look like.

I have Kenisis wheels (before they went ghetto) they're sitting on 315's in the rear and 245's up front with no issues. They'll get a coat of the same paint that is going on the body so the blacks will be the same.

Photographs are one thing, but you need to see it in person to really assess whether it's the look you want. I like satin silver that I've seen firsthand, but just don't think I'd like it in black. Definitely haven't personally liked the flat cars we have running at the track but I'm glad to have the diversity of colors (and finishes) out there.

Speaking of a mean look. I am surprised, if not astonished, at the attention my blacked out 930 is getting on the street. With all the newer exotic machinery here in SoCal and being all black I figured I could/would/should just melt into the background. Don't really want the attention, otherwise I'd have gone Fly Yellow, Guards Red or sumptin. Geeesh was I wrong. In parking lot with Silver GT3 and a white Gallardo my humble l'il ol' 930 got the most attention. I guess the "mean" look is hot now. LOL
Although IMHO the ultimate fresh wet paint look can't be any better than in black.

Looking forward to seeing the end result! ....regarding Kenesis, did you know the owner of Kenesis was actually the guy who inspired/designed the slantnose? From what I understand, as a 'thank you' for painting his 914-6 a custom color (or something like that) at the Porsche factory, Peter did some prototype renderings for the 911. I believe, his original renderings with signature were pictured in some Porsche material. I have not seen them personally.

Oops didnt mean to jack the thread.

I do.. I like that sage green much better that flat black. I think RUF was offeringthat color on his car as recently as just a few years ago. The NATO was a scruffy looking bugger.. but I LOVE IT!

my aprilia's faring has large sections in satin black from the factory and it's a f@$king bitch to keep clean, everthing stands out on it, fingerprints especially and to clean them off you have to wash the whole panel or the freshly cleaned areas stand out even more.... not for me... but us porsche drivers are no stangers to practicallity!
