Thanks, guys!
And that's including the floor lift, the flooring, all the work benches and the cabinets. But to do it at that level, there was a LOT of my own time involved. Pretty much everything came in damaged or second-hand.
It all worked out very well -- except that day where one 800-pound cabinet hit another 800-pound cabinet like a domino -- and the second one came down onto the front of my 911. At that point, you start to ask yourself if it's really a bargain to do everything yourself and on the cheap. But the fiberglass took the hit pretty well and I was only out the cost of a headlight. Here's a phone picture from that day, just before things took that bad turn.
You can see the 'stepped' support thing I made to be able to slowly turn the cabinets over with just a 12' 2x4 for a lever. (Slow and steady was the idea. But sometimes things go wrong.)

Always get new ideas looking at your garage, great inspiration...Particularly dig the in-floor lift. I've thought about adding a lift many times, but don't want to loose any space when NOT using the lift, the in-floor low rise might be a good solution.
And love the Wilton vice's... I've restored several and use them almost daily!
[though you'll also see in the picture that I'm not as dilligent as you on the whole 'the floor is not a shelf' rule! :-) ]
