Second favorite would be Gumball Rally. Not as many Porsche scenes in it but I saw it when I was very young and it left a lasting impression.
You talking about Cannonball Run?! lol

Cannonball run was a wannabe Gumball Rally. I saw this in the theaters and to this day is still in the top 5 car movies for fun and antics. Raul Julia's line on Italian driving is still one of my favorites. Wish they came out with this on bluray. Cornball no doubt but so appropriate.

The S. McQueen documentary currently on Showtime Extreme channel is awesome. Appreciate the heads up. Ive watched "Le Mans" many times but the documentary is a must see.
The clip of "Against All Odds" is very cool, and Woods/ Bridges two favorite actors of all time.

Just saw this Cobalt and loved it, so did my 8yr old son! haha
I enjoyed it more than I thought and even though it was mostly all about Julia's Ferrari Daytona vs. the AC Cobra, it was a blast to watch. Julia was a riot as an typical hot blooded, womanizing Italian (I should know). Targa was sweet in it, although I wish had more screen time. Women driving it were a little lame though, especially the older one. lol
Loved the couple in the Rolls, especially that bodacious brunette!
Thanks for the recommendation!

Glad you enjoyed it I actually watched it myself again after 25 or so years. So 70's. My wife watched as well and she didn't get a lot of the humor like the Jag never starting. IIRC most of the scenes were filmed at speed but as you know good luck driving the streets of NYC at any hour today at those speeds without traffic. Must have been fun to watch your son get a kick out of it. Cornball and risque but still wholesome fun. Times were different no doubt and imagine what the Cobra and Daytona spyder are worth today.

Yes, I had to explain the Jag issue too! haha
Correct on NYC, even w/ the 6am start, your not freely able to fly down Park ave, etc. like that. Obviously fictional and you can see bystanders gauking as they race by. Both are 7 figure cars today and I forgot to mentions what a twisted red-neck Gary Busey looked like and actually still is! haha

I caught the McQueen documentary (The Man and Le Mans) on a Delta flight - all but the last 20 minutes..... agh! They Had to be on time that flight!!! It was really very well done and very interesting.

I'll get it to watch at home with the dogs.

+1 for Tea Leone and Bad Boys. She was smoking hot back then.

Good choices, add King of the Mountain with Harry Hamlin, my pick for best Porsche content but not necessarily best story
