Curil-T on Outside of Input Shaft Seal?
Good morning,
Looking for some more help/advise. I got a little beat up pulling the leaky input shaft seal and left a couple small scratches. I've cleaned them up as best I can but was wondering if there was any harm in using a little Curil T on the outside edges of the new seal (between the seal and the guide tube) as some added protection against leaks. If that sealant gets into the gearbox am I possibly looking at bigger issues. Thanks, Paul

Having Curil-T on the fore and aft crank seals is not recommended because it remains soft and can allow the seals to creep out. On the input shaft, the seal is held in place with the guide tube, so that wouldn't be an issue. I wouldn't worry about getting a little bit in the tranny.
