Default 1987 911 cabrio - power top standard???

I am looking at purchasing a 1987 911 cabriolet - it has a manual top but I have read several places that a power top was made standard starting with the 87 models...just trying to see if there were some manual tops in 87

Belive me it doesn't matter .. you want a manual top .. Just about all power tops have been converted by now they were so problematic and nighmareish.

Power Operated Top was not standard in 1987 on base Carrera Cabs. It was standard however on all Turbo Cabs.

My 88 Carrera 3.2 has a power top that is listed as an option on the window sticker. Pretty trouble free and I use it several times per week.

My 87 Cab has a power top, and it has been a pain in the a$$. Pay attention to what the Iceman said, and stay with a manual top if you can get one. My 86 had a manual top, and you can raise them quicker than an electric top, and they are trouble free.

I believe 87 was the first year for the power top option, not standard. I have a manual top and never had problems with it.
