Porsche Classic Radio - anybody?
Has anybody the Porsche Classic Radio that they launched in September. There was a thread on it without much success.
Yes, it;s expensive,
Yes, I usually drive the window down
and yes the sound of my 3.2 is sweeter.
But Christmas is around....
I also wonder if looks ok on a 86 or if meant for pre impact bumpers.
Best to all and let's have Christmas thread on the 26th to compare Porsche related gifts...

I recently got a blaupunkt dearborn. the monterey in my 84 928 was not working. I found this to look very similar to the monterey, and was exactly plug compatible. ironically it has a cassette. so I had them add a aux jack for my ipod.

Race Car
I have an original 964 radio with code card somewhere. Benz has done a becker exchange program for their radios for years...I'm curious what Porsche is doing.

no experience but I'm sure it will be fine, tho maybe hard to use
it has a very 80s look, and I want a 60s or 70s look (with ease of use and quality DAC, FM and pre-amps) - it seems no one makes anything without an amp in it

Under featured and over priced in my mind
Typical Porsche tax for something that took too long to get to market. ( doesn't even have Bluetooth music streaming and you need to run wires to your phone. )

Check out this thread on a Continental. I think it looks great, will likely install one myself.

Seems very popular for 993s as well - there is a lot of info about it on our 993 board. And there is some discussion of the Porsche classic radio on the Pelican thread too.

If they are all about the driving experience why would they have you dangling dangerous wires around a small cabin that can get caught in the shifter pedals or Just anywhere. Besides. Providing the option doesn't mean you have to use it
Save your money as their are other classic options and reasonable cost. Check the pelican thread.
Again just my opinion.

I'm just not buying one either -- but different types of artifacts can show up even in a noisy car.
I'd prefer a wired connection, but I do agree it is likely Pmarketing (or I guess it is now called VWAG/Pmarketing...)
I don't find any really good solution BTW, tho the VDO/Continental might be the closest.
