What Else Do Porsche Owners Drive/Ride

Porsche fans are usually also gearheads, meaning that they also drive other brands. Here's what fans of the legendary German sports car drive when they aren't in their Porsches.

1. Datsun/Nissan Z Cars

It really shouldn't come as a surprise that Porsche fans are also fans of Datsun (and later Nissan) Z cars. They're lightweight, they handle great, easy to work on, and quite capable of winning races - on both curvy road courses and straight line drags.  Z cars share a lot in common with Porsche in those aspects, making them a (sometimes) cheaper alternative to the German rides.

2. Mazda RX-7

Mazda's legendary rotary powered sports car is popular among Porsche fans for the same reasons as the Z cars - they are lightweight, handle great, and enjoy a robust aftermarket. RX's are quite capable of becoming serious track cars as well, and they have timeless Japanese styling to boot.

3. Mazda Miata

The Miata is a diminutive roadster with a legendary reputation for being one of the best handling cars you can buy. They are the ultimate entry level track day car thanks to their dirt cheap cost and reliability, and they make up for a lack of power with handling that makes you feel like you're on rails. Plus, if you wreck, it wont' hurt nearly as much as if you eat it in your beloved Porsche.

4. BMW E30

The BMW E30 is a widely beloved car among all automotive enthusiasts thanks to its simplicity and performance. Build before BMW's became bloated, heavy, and laden with technology, the E30 was a basic and lightweight performer. These reasons are why the entry level luxury performance car is even more popular today than it was in the 80's.

5. Jeep Wrangler

There's fun to be had off-road as well, which is why so many Porsche owners also have a Jeep in their garage. The Wrangler is legendary for its ability to traverse any type of terrain. They can climb rocks, sling mud, and then take you on a grocery run on the way home. It's a nice little weekend toy when you get bored with asphalt.

6. Motorcycles

Porsche owners seem to have a real affinity for two wheelers, whether they be dirt bikes, cruisers, or crotch rockets. That shouldn't really come as a surprise since all are real performers, and many can simply outrun any car on the road thanks to their lightweight. Motorcycles also provide a nice change up from the four wheel fun we're all used to.

7. Trucks

If you don't own a truck, you probably know somebody that does. Let's face it, you aren't exactly hauling trailers (or your Porsche itself) with a, well, Porsche. No, you need something with a bed, a big V8, and room for the whole family. Trucks make the perfect daily when you have an exclusive sports car like a Porsche, which is why so many have one.
