Mesmerizing Process

As is always the case with each passing generation, the Porsche 992 911 GT3 ups the ante once again with impressive performance both on the track and the street. However, it isn't often that we get to see what goes into making a precision machine like the GT3, which is what makes this recent video from Porsche so darn mesmerizing. 

Special Color

In this case, we get to follow along as a 992 911 GT3 is assembled at Porsche's plant alongside many others, but this is no ordinary 911 or GT3. Rather, it's a car that's participating in the Paint to Sample program from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, destined to be covered in a cool hue dubbed Gold Bronze Metallic.

Veritable Ballet

Before the unique paint job, this video shows us just how intricate Porsche's assembly process truly is. It's a veritable ballet of robots and people, with the former doing the heavy lifting and the latter ensuring that everything is perfect as the car makes its way through the assembly process.

Numbers Game

In total, Porsche says that a whopping 1,500 people touch each car from start to finish, which is a lot. However, it takes a mere two days to take each car from a bare shell to a completed vehicle, which is also an incredible statistic. 

Appreciation Time

As for this particular 911, well, it's a special one. Many believe that the 992-gen GT3 will be the last of its beloved breed as the automaker slowly moves toward electrification. It's currently unclear whether or not that will ultimately be the case, but we should certainly appreciate the GT3 for what it is while it's here in its current form.

Traditionalist's Choice

And that, as most are aware, is a truly engaging vehicle to drive. Its naturally-aspirated, high-revving 4.0-liter flat-six powerplant cranks out an impressive 502 horsepower and revs to 9,000 rpm, sending that power to the rear wheels via a proper six-speed manual or, if you prefer, Porsche's quick-shifting PDK gearbox.

Driving Enjoyment

Letting the transmission shift for you will shave over a half-second off the 992 GT3's 0-60 time, but with this car, it's about far more than numbers. The GT3 is and always has been about the pure enjoyment of driving. Hopefully, that will remain the case for many years to come, even as the world around us is quickly changing.
