Virtual Car Shopping
For decades, the process of buying a vehicle has essentially remained unchanged - you head on down to the dealership and go through the process of finding something you like, take it for a test drive, pay for it in some fashion, and then take it home. However, in recent years, Porsche has been working to reinvent the car shopping experience, and now, has just launched a pretty interesting and virtual way to do precisely that without even having to leave the couch.

Simple Concept
This new feature - officially called the Virtual Porsche Retail Experience - just launched in Australia, but seems destined to expand to other markets in the near future. The concept is simple - it replicates the showrooms of select Porsche Centers in that country, enabling customers to check out those facilities online, without having to physically set foot in them.

Variety of Stores
This list includes destination stores like Porsche Center Newcastle, Porsche Center Perth, and Porsche Center Adelaide, as well as Australia's first Porsche Studio concept store in Brisbane. Once consumers enter the virtual experience, they can use a navigation bar to work their way around and complete different tasks.

Variety of Features
There are several features available in the navigation bar, including Porsche's online car configurator, Porsche Finder, and the Porsche Lifestyle Shop, and customers can even scope out 360-degree views and personalized sound while perusing showrooms, scheduling a test drive, or setting up a service appointment.

Natural Addition
"The Virtual Porsche Retail Experience offers everything our customers and fans expect," said Daniel Schmollinger, CEO and Managing Director of Porsche Cars Australia. "This new virtual experience adds extra convenience and lets people tailor their interactions with our physical dealerships, making it a natural addition to the purchase and ownership journey they can enjoy with Porsche."

Expanding Effort
Porsche Australia is already thinking about expanding the Virtual Retail Experience as well, perhaps adding events and exhibitions including the Porsche Hypercar Gallery x Mission X concept car showcase, which debuted at the 2024 Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
