A Unique Anniversary Celebration

The Porsche 911 Turbo has marked 50 years of dominance in the sports car world, and while Porsche celebrates this milestone with its limited-edition series, German tuner Techart has also entered the spotlight. For those seeking something beyond Porsche's exclusivity, Techart’s GTstreet R Monochrome package offers a unique interpretation of the iconic 911 Turbo. Available in a strictly limited production of just 20 units, the Monochrome is for enthusiasts who want to make an even bolder statement with their high-performance machine.

Based on the GTstreet R

Techart’s Monochrome edition is derived from their already powerful GTstreet R, itself a highly modified version of the Porsche 911 Turbo S. The Monochrome features aggressive aerodynamics and substantial power boosts. The GTstreet R, limited to 87 units, became known for its impressive performance upgrades and custom styling, but the Monochrome version takes this further, offering subtle yet standout visual changes. Key among these are the new 22-inch Formula VIII Forged wheels, designed not just for aesthetics but to enhance brake cooling during intense driving.

Aerodynamic Touches

The carbon fiber aero package from the GTstreet R carries over to the Monochrome edition, with additions like wide fender extensions, sharp bumper detailing, and GT3 RS-inspired vents. These not only give the car a race-ready appearance but serve a functional purpose as well. According to Techart, this aerodynamic setup produces four times more downforce than the stock Porsche 911 Turbo, with a 45% reduction in front axle lift at 87 mph. Such upgrades underline the Monochrome’s focus on performance, with everything engineered to keep the car stable at high speeds.

A Customizable Piece

Inside, Techart spares no expense when it comes to craftsmanship. The cabin is reupholstered in a mix of premium materials like leather, Alcantara, and heritage fabrics. Carbon fiber accents add to the car’s racing pedigree, while custom badging and black aluminum details on the pedals and footrest hint at its exclusivity. Even though the Monochrome suggests a dark, minimalist theme, Techart allows customers to personalize the car with a range of interior and exterior colors to reflect their individual tastes. Buyers are encouraged to go as bold or as subtle as they like, making each car truly one of a kind.

Power Beyond Porsche

At the heart of the Monochrome is the twin-turbo 3.8-liter flat-six engine that has been pushed to deliver an incredible 799 horsepower and 950 Nm of torque. This represents a significant boost over the 911 Turbo S’s already impressive 650 hp, and the top speed now reaches a blistering 215 mph. These power enhancements align the Monochrome with Techart’s other high-performance models, such as the GTstreet R Touring. The Monochrome’s power upgrades are complemented by performance-focused suspension options, likely offering a choice between lowering springs or adjustable coilovers.

Price and Exclusivity

Though the exact price of the Monochrome has not been disclosed, it is expected to carry a premium well above the cost of a standard Porsche 911 Turbo S. For context, Techart’s GTstreet R Touring comes with an additional price tag of over $109,000, so the Monochrome is likely to follow suit with an equally hefty figure. However, for collectors and enthusiasts eager for a car that blends ultimate performance with a handcrafted touch, the price may be a secondary concern. With only 20 units produced, the GTstreet R Monochrome is firmly positioned in the "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" category.
