Another Entry

These days, it's hard to keep track of the sheer number of companies offering some sort of Porsche 911 restomod, as it has grown exponentially for a number of reasons. With demand (and prices) for such models remaining high and waitlists long, yet another company is adding its own unique Porsche 911 restomod to this growing list - Sportec, which just launched its new, lightweight SUB1000

Svelte Weight

The Swedish-based Sportec wanted to create what is essentially a lightweight race car for the street, and that's precisely what drove every change present on the SUB1000. In fact, with a full tank of gas, the SUB1000 weighs a mere 990 kilograms (2,182 pounds), or around a half-ton less than the new 911 GT3 RS.

Wider and Lighter

Sportec pulled that off by using an array of lightweight materials throughout, including aluminum inside the cabin, coupled with carbon kevlar on the outside, plus details like a polycarbonate rear window. It also wears wider body panels, which give it a more aggressive look and make room for more significantly-sized wheels and tires.

Finely Crafted Cabin

While the SUB1000 might be lightweight with a focus on track duty, its interior isn't exactly spartan, either. In fact, it's also a work of art with finely stitched leather throughout and plenty of thoughtful details, such as a CNC-machined gear shift lever. Customers can customize the interior of the SUB1000 any way they wish as well, with plenty of color choices to boot.

Beefed Up Powertrain

Mechanically speaking, the SUB1000 utilizes a naturally-aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six that features forged internals and a host of updates that help it churn out 270 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque (251 pound-feet), mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It also features an MCS three-way suspension system and multi-disc locking differential to help get that power to the ground.

Limited Production

Sportec hasn't shared pricing for the SUB1000, which figures to vary greatly depending on what kinds of options customers go for, but we do know that it will be extremely limited in terms of production, as just 300 units will be offered in total. That makes it pretty exclusive, though it certainly stands out in the crowded sea of 911 restomods, regardless.
