Surging Market
The Porsche Carrera GT was a truly special hypercar when it debuted around two decades ago, and remains every bit as special - if not more so - today. After all, naturally-aspirated V10-powered cars with manual transmissions don't exactly grow on trees, particularly ones without any kind of electronic nannies. As such, Carrera GT values have skyrocketed in recent years, with this salvaged and modified example also recently selling for big bucks on Cars & Bids.

Reasonable Price?
With just 1,270 produced in total, any Carrera GT is special and valuable, even this less-than-perfect example, it seems. Bid up to a whopping $600k, it's hard to imagine that this might represent a bargain by any measure, but it truly does - heck, nicer examples routinely sell for much more than that, in some cases double.

Major Damage
This particular car has just 8,400 miles on the clock, which is low by any standard, but it has also led a rough life thus far. It was in some sort of accident back in 2009, suffering damage to essentially every single body panel, according to the accompanying CarFax.

Coming Back
In spite of its value, the insurance company wound up totaling the car out, but shortly thereafter, the owner was able to obtain a salvage title. A few months after that, it was granted a rebuilt title after the damage was repaired, though it's now being sold with a salvage title once again.

Signs of Destruction
Regardless, there are signs that something just isn't right here - particularly, the car's misaligned panels and exhaust tips, as well as a crack in the carbon fiber. It's also been repainted black after originally leaving the factory in Seal Gray Metallic, though the car is currently covered in a matte black wrap.

Mods List
From there, we can spot a host of modifications including aftermarket headlights, red emblems, black wheels, red painted engine covers, an aftermarket steering wheel, carbon fiber trim, Alcantara upholstery, and red stitching inside the cabin.

Curious Case
A curious case indeed, this Carrera GT would nonetheless make for a pretty fun car to drive, in spite of its concerning history and tacky mods. After all, it isn't every day something like this pops up for sale, and for at least one person, it may prove to be too enticing an opportunity to pass up.
