Race a Porsche 911 on Track in Vegas

At Speed Vegas, you can pay as low as $39 a lap to take get behind the wheel of one of Porsche’s cutting edge sports cars. They describe their GT3 lapping experience in three words: Hysterically, epically wonderful. I couldn’t think of a better way to say it myself. Let's take a look at one of the more race oriented arrive and drive facilities in Sin City.

GT3 and Cayman GTS

You can’t go wrong with a choice like this, but at a price difference of $100, you’re going to have a hard time deciding. Mid engine and rear engine cars behave completely different, but the GT3 is going to be faster in most cases. I’d choose the GT3 not just because it’s a faster machine, but because it really is one of the best sports cars on sale in the world right now. If you’ve never been in one you can’t begin to imagine how fast they really are.

Great track layout

They’ve managed to incorporate almost every type of turn you can imagine in 1.5 miles. It has a nice flow to it in certain sections and a lot of challenging technical sets. At 2,650 feet the main straight is long enough to allow for speeds of over 120mph! One element to any great road is flow and the Speed Vegas track delivers it in abundance. The Cayman and GT3 suit the layout nicely. They even have banking on some of the corners!

Pro Right Seaters

Someone rides with you during the experience so while it is short you do get instruction. 5 laps with a pro coach are worth 50 to 100 laps of you driving on your own. This would make a great gift for a friend or a weekend getaway to Vegas. $250 isn’t so bad if you get lucky on the slots!

Full throttle

One thing that sets Speed Vegas apart from other types of driving venues is the way they advertise it. They encourage speed here (hey it’s in the name, right?) and that’s not something every driving program can say. These cars are about performance and that’s what they focus on here. The place was even created with FIA safety standards in mind. Not a bad thing to remember as the speedometer touches triple digits.

Life changing lap times

If your face doesn’t look like this kid when you’re driving a 911 then the place you’re at has missed the point of these cars! It’s great to know people can access these cars. So many of us can’t afford to own a GT3. Hey, they are insanely expensive cars! If the general public can walk in and jump into a super sports car that’s one more person that may love cars from that moment forward. For that reason Speed Vegas gets my nod as a must visit race venue!
