Puma, Porsche Team Up For Special New Sneakers
The special shoe was designed to mark the 911 Carrera RS 2.7's 50th anniversary.
Celebrating a Half Century
Porsche has a long and rich history of teaming up with various icons in the world of fashion, and peddles its own stylish gear via the Porsche Design catalog, to boot. Its latest effort in that regard comes to us from a familiar place and name as well - a new shoe designed in conjunction with Puma that celebrates the 911 Carrera RS 2.7's 50th anniversary.

Limited Offering
The special piece of footwear is a unique version of Puma's iconic Suede shoe, officially dubbed the Puma x Porsche Suede RS 2.7. Like the car that it's based on, this particular shoe was also sold in very limited quantities - just 500 units of each color combination, in fact.

Limited Edition
That number wasn't just pulled from thin air, either - Porsche made just 500 examples of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 to meet homologation requirements for racing purposes. There, that particular racing Porsche was quite successful, racking up plenty of wins and earning the title of being the fastest production German car at that time.

Various Hues
As for the shoes that pay tribute to that special machine, Puma offered them in a total of 10 different colors, each inspired by the colorful hues originally available on the 911 Carrera RS 2.7. Eight of those were sold worldwide, while two - orange and black and white and black - were offered exclusively to customers in Holland and Japan, respectively.

Nifty Touches
Aside from simply looking cool with various bright hues, Puma and Porsche's special shoe also features a host of cool little touches to pay homage to the Carrera RS 2.7. Those include a "2.7" motif on the rear portion, sides, and heel, leaving no doubt what inspired their creation.

Unique Features
Porsche's name is also present here, along with an inscription that identifies this footwear as a limited, one-of-500 offering. Peek at the insole, and you'll also find a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 printed in there as well. The shoe comes with free admission to the Porsche Museum, and retailed for around $120.

Going Fast
Unfortunately, as is often the case with hot, limited-edition shoes these days, this Puma collab sold out incredibly quickly. Regardless, sneakerheads that managed to snag a pair now have a pretty cool collectible that any Porsche fan can appreciate as well.
