Porsche Taycan Owner Crashes Car Trying to Park

In easily the worst parking job ever, it's clear this Taycan owner wasn't prepared for its instant torque.

Instant Torque

There's no denying the fact that the Porsche Taycan is quick, no matter which trim level you opt for. But electric cars also deliver their power much differently than ICE-powered ones, as in, loads of torque, often all of it, is available from the second the accelerator is pressed even slightly. One Taycan owner found that out the hard way recently, as we can see in this somewhat hilarious video posted to Twitter by Porsche Sauce.

Unintended Acceleration

In the video, we see the Taycan driver pulling up a steep driveway, seemingly trying to park their fancy EV before heading in the house. But after sitting still for a moment, the car rockets forward, hitting the rear end of a parked SUV before things get even worse.

Triple Crash

The Taycan keeps going, driving over a wall and smashing down on yet another car that's parked below it on the street. It's an embarrassing yet entertaining little clip, though the specific cause of this triple crash is unknown.

Mix Up

Aside from underestimating the low-end power of the Taycan, it's possible that the driver is inexperienced, at least in terms of driving electric vehicles. They could have also gotten the brake and accelerator pedal mixed up, which we've seen happen quite a bit in the past.

Power Play

Regardless of the actual cause of the accident, the Taycan is certainly not the kind of car you'd want to put a first-time driver in. The 4S makes a hefty 563 horsepower (in Overboost mode) and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the Turbo variant is capable of pumping out 750 hp and 774 pound-feet of torque, with a 0-60 time of just 2.6 seconds.

Not for Everyone

One of the main selling points of most EVs is their instant torque and acceleration from a stop, but as we can see from this neighbor's spy video, perhaps that isn't always a good thing. We've always known that powerful cars aren't for everyone, and this is just more proof of that.

First of Many?

Regardless, we imagine that most Taycan owners are skilled enough (or at least smart enough) to handle this kind of power and power delivery. Or, at least, we hope so. Either way, this certainly won't be the last time we see one wind up on the wrong end of the road, we imagine.
