Porsche Provides Caffeine Seekers With Adrenaline Rush
Recently, a coffee shop in Carson, California began offering a new drink called E-Jolt. The beverage was so unbelievably powerful that customers had to sign a waiver before ordering it. Little did they know, they were signing up to take a spin in the 680-horsepower Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. Full clip of the customers’ experience in the slideshow below.
To garner customer interest in trying out the shop’s new “beverage”, a waiver was posted. “Waivers for coffee is the hip new thing,” explains one of the bearded hipster baristas in the viral marketing clip. Many of the customers had a very positive reaction to the idea that instead of trying out the shop’s newest coffee blend, they were going to be treated to a spin in the all-new Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid.
The realization that they were about to take a ride in a Porsche was a “jolting” experience
Parked outside was the eye-catching, extremely white Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid, ready to take the very excited customers for a spin around the neighborhood behind its 680-horsepower engine which, it’s worth noting, can go from 0 to 60 in 3.2 seconds.
“Hybrid engines are considered ‘good’ technology thanks to their ecological benefits,” Ross says, “but they’re not known for much else. No one thinks hybrids are fun or exhilarating. And those two notions are central to the Porsche brand. The way this car adds a mind-blowing element to what is normally a fairly dull driver experience made us think about what a jolt of caffeine does. It creates a buzz, opens your eyes, wakes you up.”
As VW and the groups under its umbrella bounce back from diesel-gate, the brands have a focus on greener cars of all kinds to populate roads with. The S E-Hybrid is a car that not only checks off the green box but also provides all of the performance that one would expect from Porsche. This is proof that you can have a hybrid that will get you some more mileage of our your car as well as plaster a smile on your face with every stab of the throttle.

Rides took place at the Porsche Experience Center, about two miles from the coffee shop, and the whole scenario was designed to “shake up perceptions of hybrid technology,” explains Marshall Ross, creative chief at Cramer-Krasselt, the agency behind the stunt, to AdFreak. At close to two million views in less than two weeks, it’s safe to say mark this campaign a success.
