Special Occasion

Porsche has more than its fair share of milestones to celebrate - seemingly on an annual basis - which is to be expected for one of the more successful sports car manufacturers to ever exist. The latest is the 40th anniversary of the subsidiary Porsche Ibérica, as in 1984, Porsche transitioned from being represented in Spain by an importer to becoming a subsidiary that was originally known as Porsche España, S.A. Now, to mark that anniversary, Porsche has created a very special new 911 variant.

One-Off

This new creation is dubbed the Cuarenta Edition, and was designed in a collaborative effort between Porsche Ibérica, Style Porsche, and the Sonderwunsch Team in Zuffenhausen. "The idea behind the Cuarenta Edition was to create a 911 that would have been ordered by a Spanish or Portuguese customer 40 years ago and that is still fashionable and desirable today,” said Alexander Fabig, Vice President of Individualization & Classic at Porsche.

Starting Point

After doing a bit of research, the team came up with a concept that mimics what we might have seen in this area back in the 1980s, after which Sonderwunsch took care of the build process. The team started with a Carrera GTS coupe (the first model sold under this subsidiary) equipped with the new for 2025 T-Hybrid powertrain and just began adding custom touches from there.

Custom Color

On the outside, that process began with a custom green Paint to Sample Plus color called "Quercusverde," which is supposed to be reminiscent of oak leaves - something one can find adorning the landscape of Spain and Portugal. Additionally, the Quercus tree can be found in the car's 40th-anniversary logo, which is hand-painted, to boot.

Other Touches

There are plenty of other custom bits including the B-pillar logo, aluminum side window trim, red rear light strip, and stone guard film - a nod to the popular option from the 1980s. In this case, the presence of stone guard film is designed to look like the protective film used on the 911 during that era and is finished in black satin. A set of matching RS Spyder Design rounds out the exterior updates, with Brilliant Silver rims and center caps that pay homage to the 911 of that era, too.

Bespoke Interior

Inside the cabin, one will find a two-tone Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown leather with Tartan textile inlays, Crayon and Truffle Brown stitching, Cuarenta embossing on the headrests, Aluminium Darksilver door sills with customized Cuarenta lettering illuminated in Cremewhite, and even a Quercusverde key housed in a two-tone Truffle Brown and Cohiba Brown leather pouch.

Shining Jewel

“The arrival of Porsche as a subsidiary in Spain and Portugal, taking over from the importer at the time, was a turning point for the brand,” said Tomás Villén, Managing Director of Porsche Ibérica. “We are very proud of the work we have done in these forty years, and what better way to celebrate than with an exclusive model of the company's icon, the 911, for our market. At Porsche Ibérica, we will keep one unit, which we will use and preserve as a jewel to showcase our heritage.”
