Porsche X Aimé Leon Dore

Porsche and Aimé Leon Dore have come together once again, collaborating to create this beautiful 911 SC. The two companies had worked together last year, bringing a fashionable re-imagination of the 964 generation of the Porsche 911. The Carrera 4 was featured at the 2020 New York Fashion Week.

Another Collab

As with last year's piece, this 911 project carries cultural elements in addition to its connection to fashion. But this particular creation also has a close personal connection with Aimé Leon Dore founder, Teddy Santis. The 32-year-old Porsche enthusiast was able to draw from his childhood memories with this project, bringing his dreams to reality.

Inspired by Childhood Memories

It became a special collaboration for both Porsche and Santis, as he put so much of himself into the 911 SC. “The vision for this project was always to portray the Super Carrera with a completely different type of intimacy than the 964 but in a way that would feel equally impactful,” he remarked. “The design of the vehicle and the creative direction for the project both come from my childhood on the Greek islands and the unique beauty of things that get better with age and wear in that environment.”

Exterior Design

On the outside, the 911 shows off a beautiful olive hue. The color is contrasted by the black Fuchs 16-inch wheels. At the helm, there is a pair of fog lights mounted onto the hood. And perhaps Santis' most obvious personal touch on the outside, there is a roof rack filled with nostalgic items from his childhood.

Charming Cabin

The cabin is where a lot of the unique additions reside. Representative of different aspects of his heritage and early life, the interior features a number of distinctive materials, and everything is made by hand. The original seats have been restored by Recaro, with the driver's seat showing off a beaded cover. The floor mats have been given an oriental pattern style, as well. And a set of photographs banded to the visor serve as icing on the cake, bringing back childhood memories for the designer.

Dream Come True

“I am delighted that we are not just able to show Porsche fans a fantastic project at the interface between sports cars and fashion, but also that we were able to help Teddy Santis to make his dream come true,” said  Porsche’s CMO Robert Ader. The Porsche will be on display at Aimé Leon Dore's flagship in NYC from May 21st until May 23rd.
