A Revival
In 2021, British firm Fifteen Eleven Design unveiled their ambitious project – a reimagined 1975 Porsche 914 – after a dedicated three-year effort. The company's Managing Director, Ben Mellors, expressed his satisfaction with the final product, despite the longer-than-expected build time, as they opened orders for the masterpiece, acknowledging the unexpected extended timeline yet embracing the perfect outcome.
The iconic air-cooled classic received a contemporary touch with carbon fiber body panels, wider dimensions, and functional design changes. The redesigned front fascia, complete with a modified bonnet and front bumper, not only enhances aesthetics but also facilitates efficient radiator and oil cooling.
Modernized
Distinctive features like projector LED headlights, 'Moby Dick' driving lights, and a rear ducktail contribute to the car's unique character. The chassis underwent a comprehensive overhaul, strengthening it with a T45 tubular structural reinforcement to deliver an entirely revamped ride experience.
Upgraded Performance
Combining a Cayman-based suspension with Reiger three-way adjustable coil-over shock absorbers, the car strikes a balance between impressive handling and comfortable driving. Brembo brakes, a fly-by-wire throttle, and a bespoke stainless exhaust system are among the upgraded features. The vehicle rolls on 18-inch Fuchs wheels equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 2 tires.
400 Horsies
Under the hood, a reworked 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine now generates 380 to 400 horsepower, boasting steel internals, forged pistons, a Life Racing ECu, and a power management system. This translates to a performance that far surpasses its original capabilities, all channeled through a six-speed transmission.
Sporty Comfort
Inside, bespoke leather and Recaro seats exude sporty comfort. The restomod offers both right- and left-hand drive options, with meticulous customization available to cater to individual preferences for color, trim, and materials.
Modern Classic
Fifteen Eleven's reimagination of the Porsche 914 epitomizes the harmonious blend of classic nostalgia and contemporary innovation. Beyond its striking exterior, the car's performance and personalized interior make it an extraordinary driving experience, a testament to the company's unwavering commitment to automotive excellence.
