Limited Edition 911 Turbo Unveiled for 50th Anniversary

Porsche has revealed the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition at the 2024 Monterey Car Week, celebrating five decades since the debut of its iconic high-performance model. The limited edition honors the 1974 launch of the original 911 Turbo, a car that redefined the sports car market by blending supercar-level speed with everyday usability. With only 1,974 units to be produced, this anniversary edition will attract collectors and enthusiasts alike, offering a unique combination of retro styling and cutting-edge performance.

Exclusive Styling

The 911 Turbo 50 Years edition blends the past and present with distinct design elements. Inspired by the 1973 Porsche 911 RSR Turbo concept, the car features heritage-style decals and Anthracite Grey accents on the rear wing, fascia, and mirrors.

Heritage and Modern Features

The limited edition also introduces the Turbonite shade—previously seen on other Porsche models—which now graces the 911’s wheels, badging, and various trim elements. These design touches are complemented by subtle “1974-2024” lettering on the engine cover and puddle lights projecting a turbo icon onto the pavement.

Nostalgic Interior Details

Inside, the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition draws inspiration from the 1970s, with MacKenzie tartan patterns on the seats and door panels, accented by Turbonite-colored stitching and seatbelts.

Modern Luxury

The RaceTex roof liner, illuminated door sills, and headrest badges add an air of exclusivity. Buyers can opt for the Heritage Design Package, which offers an Aventurine Green Metallic body with silver detailing and vintage-inspired decals. Extended leather, tartan accents, and green dials further enhance the retro feel.

Performance Anchored in the Modern 911 Turbo S

Though visually rooted in history, the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition is based on the 2025 911 Turbo S, retaining its powerful twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six engine. Delivering 641 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque, this all-wheel-drive machine rockets from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 205 mph. The car’s sport exhaust system, black brake calipers, and PASM sport suspension—lowering the ride height by 0.4 inches—come standard, ensuring that this commemorative model is as thrilling to drive as it is to look at.

Pricing Reflects the Exclusivity

Starting at $261,100 plus destination fees, the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition commands a premium of over $30,000 more than the standard Turbo S. For those opting for the Heritage Design Package, the cost increases even further. Despite the hefty price tag, the appeal lies in its blend of heritage, rarity, and high performance. Porsche enthusiasts eager to add this collector’s item to their garage can expect deliveries to begin in late 2024.

Limited Run of 1,974 Units Celebrates an Icon

Porsche is limiting production to just 1,974 units in a nod to the original 911 Turbo’s debut year. The first deliveries are set to begin later this year, and a portion of the global allocation will reach U.S. shores. Porsche has also introduced a matching limited-edition chronograph, ensuring that even accessories reflect the special nature of this commemorative release. With its blend of nostalgia and innovation, the 911 Turbo 50 Years edition marks a fitting tribute to one of the brand’s most beloved models.
