Part 1: 12 of the 21 911s that Porsche now offers

Porsche now offers 21 options to choose from when shopping its iconic 911 sports car. The differences between the base model and the premier version are huge, and to better understand it all, the following is part one of a two-part slideshow that explains what each car has to offer its driver.

1. Carrera

This is considered the "base" 911—it’s powered by a 3.0-liter, 370-horsepower, twin-turbocharged, flat six engine.

2. Cabriolet

The Cabriolet is the convertible version of the Carrera.

3. Carrera 4 Coupe

Now, you have the Carrera 4 Coupe, which is a Carrera Coupe with all-wheel drive (hence the “4”).

4. Carrera 4 Cabriolet

Naturally, you need a convertible variant—and that comes in the form of the Carrera 4 Cabriolet.

5. Carrera S

The Carrera S is a step up from the Carrera base model—it’s equipped with a 50 HP boost from the Carrera, courtesy of larger turbochargers and an upgraded exhaust system on its 3.0-liter 420 hp flat-six engine.

6. Cabriolet Carrera S

And now for the variants: the Cabriolet Carrera S is the convertible iteration.

7. Carrera 4S

While the Carrera 4S is the Carrera S offers all-wheel drive.

8. Carrera 4S Cabriolet

And finally, the Carrera 4S Cabriolet is the convertible model of the all-wheel drive option.

9. Carrera GTS

Moving on up in terms of power, the Carrera GTS has even larger turbochargers than the Carrera S, giving this model 450 horsepower.

10. Carrera GTS

The Carrera GTS Cabriolet is another convertible version (are you noticing a theme yet?)

12. Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet

Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet is, of course, the convertible option.
