It's a wagon

With 680 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque, this new version of the Panamera is the most powerful model released by Porsche thus far. The best wagon on the market has a name that's long enough to take up all of the cargo space that the vehicle has to offer. The Sport Turismo Turbo S E-Hybrid is the same as the basic Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid except for the station wagon layout. With this configuration, you get more cargo space, easier entry and exit for the second row thanks to the heightened roof, and a more proportional silhouette over standard models.

A wonderful powerplant with tons of room

The power is derived from the same twin-turbo V8 found in the Panamera Turbo but is boosted by an electric motor to give the car a 0-62 time of 3.2 seconds. Just about every option you can think of is standard on here since this is the top of the line Sport Turismo. Carbon-ceramic brakes sit behind 21-inch wheels straight off of a 911 Turbo. The roll bars have an electromechanical system that stiffens the rife when needed alongside the three-chamber air suspension setup. That transforming spoiler is there as well and will assist with handling along with cutting down on noise when the panoramic roof is open.

A Porsche for the planet

At a slower pace, you can just sit back and enjoy the hybrid aspect of the car by switching over to the full electric mode by way of 14.1 kWh battery. The official U.S.-spec EPA electric range rating is not finalized as of now, but the word on the street is that the range will be near 30 miles certified under the New European Driving Cycle. Top speed in EV mode is almost 87 mph with the lithium-ion battery fully charged in 2.4 to six hours.

Of course you get all the bells and whistles

The decoupler integrated into the hybrid module is electromechanically actuated via an Electric Clutch Actuator that results in shorter response times. The eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung dual-clutch automatic transmission ports power to the standard Porsche Traction Management (PTM) adaptive all-wheel-drive system. Besides the goodies in the high-tech powertrain, the model features a "4+1 seating configuration" and 15 cubic feet of luggage space that can be expanded to 45.7 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down.

Call your accountant now!

Inside the cabin, you'll get the large 12.3-inch touchscreen in the center console along with the other screens around the tachometer in the gauge cluster.  There will also be the suite of active and passive driver aids such as adaptive cruise control dubbed InnoDrive to make your ride experience as pleasurable as possible.

All of this will run your wallet $188,400 plus $1050 for a destination charge. So, despite the extra sheet metal that goes into the wagon, there won't be much of a higher charge over a regular Turbo S E-Hybrid sedan. Orders are now being taken with deliveries on the schedule for Spring 2018.
