New Porsche Flagship SUV Is Coming Soon
Porsche's highly successful SUV family is growing once again.
Another One
The controversy surrounding Porsche's decision to build and sell SUVs in the early 2000s was quite intense, as one might expect for such a beloved and iconic producer of sports cars. Things obviously worked out for the best, and today, Porsche's SUVs are its top sellers and are also helping to keep cars like the 911 alive, so it should come as no surprise that Automotive News is reporting that another one will be added to the lineup soon.

New Flagship
Not many details are available in regards to what this SUV will look like, but we do know that it will arrive by 2030, at least. Reports indicate that the new model will be bigger than the Cayenne, slotting in Porsche's lineup above that model as the new utility flagship.

Electrified Offering
The new SUV will also likely offer third-row seating, providing enough space to carry the entire family around town. As far as power goes, the big utility will reportedly arrive as a plug-in hybrid, with a fully-electric model following at some point in the future.

Car Like
Porsche reportedly shared this news with its dealers recently, and also provided them with a rendering of what it might look like. The SUV's appearance reportedly looks like a mashup of a sedan and a crossover, with "rakish" styling, meaning that it might look more like a car, albeit with a raised ride height.

Appealing Design
This SUV will likely feature the ever-popular "coupe" styling that has graced a number of crossovers in recent years, with a fastback-like roof that robs cargo space but also looks a bit more sporty. That figures to appeal to quite a few modern-day shoppers, at least.

Cash Cow
Some may not be fans of the idea of yet another Porsche SUV, but there's no denying that there's room in the lineup for a larger vehicle with a higher profit margin. Porsche's current crossover/SUV lineup has quickly become its cash cow, and it makes perfect sense to take advantage of that by adding yet another model to the lineup.
