New 992 Testing Car takes a Nasty Spill (Photos)

1. Helpless victims

When vehicles are out in the world for the purpose of testing they allow themselves to become pawns in the vicious game that is Murphy's Quantum Law: Anything that can, or will go wrong, is going wrong, it will all at once. These 992s were helpless as the truck they were being transported in lost grip on the icy roads where they were being carried.

2. Cars are replaceable

From the look of things, these cars may be total write-offs along with the semi-truck trailer they were inside. Fortunately, the truck driver and nearby motorists were not hurt and can walk away from the incidence with a crazy story to tell anyone who'll listen.

3. When will we see it again?

We all enjoyed seeing the next gen Porsche out doing its thing but it looks like we may have to wait a bit before we are able to see another one out in the wild. Perhaps, when we do Porsche will be sending the 992 to warmer climates for testing to ease the transition of the 992 into our cruel cold world full of dark possibilities.

4. Close to home

Traffic came to a standstill on the road that is 19 kilometers from the nearest Porsche test center in Arjeplog for several hours while individuals brought out a tow truck and the authorities to make sense of the wreck that sent a 992 and 991 variant up to the pearly gates.

5. New tech

The eighth generation of the 911 will ride on an all-new modular platform and will possess a range of powertrain choices. Many are speculating that one such powertrain could be a hybrid setup that will not only get you points with that cute tree hugger but will undoubtedly net extra ponies to be harnessed for you to do with you wilt on straightaways.
