Expanding the Electric Macan Lineup

Porsche is expanding its electric SUV offerings with the introduction of the rear-wheel-drive Macan and the more powerful all-wheel-drive Macan 4S. The rear-wheel-drive Macan, the first of its kind, brings a new level of efficiency and agility to the lineup, while the Macan 4S bridges the gap between the Macan 4 and the Macan Turbo with its enhanced performance and power.

Rear-Wheel-Drive Macan: Lightweight and Efficient

The entry-level Macan is powered by a single rear-mounted electric motor producing up to 355 hp and 415 lb.-ft of torque on overboost. Weighing 243 pounds less than its all-wheel-drive counterpart, it is the lightest and most efficient variant, potentially offering the longest range from its 100 kWh battery pack. This model can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds, with a top speed of 136 mph.

All-Wheel-Drive Macan 4S: Power and Performance

The Macan 4S features a dual electric motor setup, delivering up to 509 hp and 578 lb.-ft of torque on overboost. This configuration allows the Macan 4S to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 149 mph. Both the Macan and the Macan 4S come standard with adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled dampers, enhancing ride comfort and handling.

Off-Road Design Package: Rugged and Versatile

Porsche introduces an optional off-road design package for all trims of the electric Macan. This package includes a redesigned front bumper, side skirts, and a diffuser, available in body-color or contrasting Vesuvius Grey. The package also features skid plates and new five-spoke 21-inch alloy wheels, along with a 10 mm lift on the air suspension, increasing the ground clearance to 8.8 inches in the highest setting.

Enhanced Personalization Options

To further personalize the Macan EV, Porsche offers new customization options, including the Slate Grey Neo color and 20-inch Macan S alloy wheels. The Porsche Driver Experience digital cockpit has also been updated with new graphics and animations, allowing drivers to adjust the display and ambient lighting to match the exterior color of the vehicle.

Pricing and Availability

The new Macan models are now available for order, with first deliveries in the US expected in the fourth quarter of the year. The entry-level Macan starts at $75,300, while the Macan 4S begins at $84,900. These prices do not include taxes, registration, dealer charges, or a $1,995 delivery fee.

Retaining the ICE Macan

Interestingly, Porsche continues to offer the first-generation ICE-powered Macan alongside the new electric models. The base Macan (I) starts at $62,900, with additional options such as the Macan T, Macan S, and Macan GTS. This strategy allows Porsche to cater to both traditional and electric vehicle customers, providing a diverse range of options to meet various preferences and needs.
