Denzel Washington's 993 Turbo Sells For Crazy Money
This gorgeous Porsche would have attracted attention even without its famous owner's name attached to it.
Breaking the Bank
Collectible Porsches are hot commodities these days, a fact that has only been solidified by exploding collector car prices in general. Attach a famous name to a particular car, however, and you're going to extract even more money from buyers. Case in point - this gorgeous 993 911 Turbo, which is an amazing car in its own right - recently broke the bank at Bring a Trailer because it was also owned by legendary actor Denzel Washington.

Star Power
Beautiful as it may be, the $405k hammer price of this particular 911 is incredibly steep, no matter how you slice it. But that's the power of Hollywood, we suppose, which was enough, in this case, to prompt someone to pay far more than a regular old time capsule of a 993 might be worth.

Simply Flawless
This 911 is certainly nice, as it has just 18k original miles on it after Washington purchased it brand new. The famous actor was also its only owner until the hammer fell, and he obviously took great care of the car, as it looks simply flawless, inside and out.

Busy Guy
As sublime as the black exterior is, the corresponding black interior is every bit as nice. Then again, its famous actor owner obviously didn't drive it much, likely for good reason. During this particular time, Washington was likely a very busy man, filming a number of movies including He Got Game, The Siege, and The Hurricane.

Unclear Motivation
Of course, most probably remember Washington for his iconic role in Training Day, where he drove a Monte Carlo. But in real life, he had something much, much cooler. It's hard to imagine what might have prompted him to sell his beloved Porsche after owning it for decades, but perhaps the red-hot market was enough motivation to part ways.

Last and Best?
Most consider the 993-gen 911 to be one of the best, and the fact that it was also the last air-cooled version of the beloved model makes it that much more special. In this case, a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six provides a still-healthy 408 horsepower and 398 pound-feet of torque for premium performance.

Valuation
Obviously, it's pretty cool to have the opportunity to own a celebrity car, especially one that's been in a famous actor's possession for a very long time. But we're still not entirely sure if that makes this particular car worth nearly a half-million dollars, though at least a few bidders obviously felt like it was.
