Strange Accident

Over the years, we've certainly seen our fair share of accidents involving Porsche 911 models - some the fault of the driver, others caused by things beyond their control. However, this recent crash involving a Porsche 911 is, well, a bit different than most, as it happened when a dealer technician smashed into it while it was parked, as we can see in this recent post on Reddit.

Service Gone Wrong

The owner of the 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio seen here had taken it to the dealership for some minor repairs, only to receive a shocking phone call shortly thereafter informing him that it had been involved in an accident. "They told me they were doing a test drive after the repairs, and a minivan cut them off, causing the driver to overcorrect and swerve up the embankment, hit a tree, and go airborne," the owner said.

Catastrophic Damage

As we can see here, the angle of the ensuing accident was all wrong not only for the Porsche 911 sitting nearby, but also a Mercedes-Benz GLE that was parked next to it. The Alfa wound up resting on the 911's roof, causing catastrophic damage to the sports car, as well as the M-B SUV.

Into the Cabin

The Alfa landed on the 911 so hard, in fact, that it smashed the roof and protruded into the passenger compartment in a truly shocking scene. Luckily, no one was inside, as one might imagine, but if they were, things could have gone much, much worse.

Total Loss?

Regardless, it seems as if the poor 911 is a total loss, which is probably also the case for the Alfa, which sustained serious damage itself. The GLE, on the other hand, didn't fare quite as badly and should be salvageable, though we imagine that it won't be cheap to repair, either.

Lacking Details

Sadly for the Alfa owner, he had only owned his ride for around five months when this happened, and it's entirely unclear why the crash occurred in the first place. It's possible that the dealer service tech taking it for a ride was speeding, given the severity of the accident, but it's hard to tell with no additional information. Regardless, we certainly feel bad for the owner of the Alfa, as well as that poor, poor, Porsche underneath it.
